And we are off again! On the way to our yearly ski holiday in serfaus. But this time we left early in the morning. Too early for me and some others too!

Also Ski fahren, das macht spass, aber man muss es können .
Ja es macht soooooo viel spass, ich bin vier mal hingefallen aber das ist nicht schlimm weil das kann jedem mal passiren.
Jetzt ist es zwei tage vor der Abfahrt, und ich finde das doof.
Wir sitzen beim Abendessen und gehen gleich zur Adventure Night.

Second day of skiing. Weather was fantastic this morning but less so now... Too bad. But the skiing is very good.

So now here we are again, another year and another ski holiday.  Off to Serfaus once more to
"get away" from it all.  This time we are staying over Christmas, which means, due to circumstances, it will be our first Christmas where one of us (Johnsons) is not with us on Christmas eve.  Alessandro has stayed home this year in "solidarity" with Laura (his soulmate) who must study for exams early next year.
So it's just me, and 6 women this year: Adriana, Anuschka, Anastasia, Petra, Mandy and Caro. Will I survive?

Fantastic Skiing

As usual for me while skiing, my feet hurt very badly.  I've tried several boots over the years and nothing has helped.  I have simply accepted this as standard for me and loosen my boots at the end of every run.  This allows me to withstand the pain for about half a day, so that when i'm in the "Alm" i can remove them and blood can flow back into the numb toes.
However, by Thursday of this week i simply could no longer stand it and decided to rent some boots on the off chance that they'd be a bit better.  While doing this at the shop i decided to rent some skis along  with the boots so that i could try something new.  My skis had been giving me some problems also (Volkl F1) and so i got some Atomic GS12 race carvers and a pair of Atomic boots.
As soon as i tried the boots on in the shop i noticed they were different.  They were immediately snug while sliding into them, but did not immediately hurt.  In fact, the bindings of the boots did not make them that much tighter.  I noticed that my foot was held completely in the boot, but no pain!
When i then arrived at the top of the mountain, put on my skis and traveled 10 meters i immediatel noticed a massive difference.  No pain in my feet and the skis seemed to almost turn on their own.  The slightest angle change of my knees and i would turn!  So, now i've got a task to find a good deal on these skis, as when i returned them and inquired about the price to purchase them i was a bit shocked: 800 Euros, for the skis alone!  I gave it a pass...
In summary, the next two days were some of the best skiing that i had ever experienced.  Skiing was completely fun again!  Here some pics to prove it!

Obwohl ich schon was ueber dieses Thema gepostet habe, wollte ich noch ein Bild reinstellen, und ein kleines Video.  Also hier ist unsere kleine Rennfahrerin...wurde 7 in dem Rennen  (von 10!).

Apres Ski, lite...

 Tonight we did a bit of "Apres Ski", but in a light version as we had some underage kids with us. it was nice, and warm (after a few) and entertaining.  Just around the corner of our Pension there is a Schirmbar, which was absolutely packed.  Afterwards we did some shopping for some winter boots for Anuschka, and then went home where Alessandro and I made some pizzas (from scratch) for all.  nice end of day.

 Heute machten wir uns auf den Weg zur Masner Alm, die fast am Ende von dem Ski Gebiet Serfaus liegt.  Die Alm ist, finde ich, sehr schön da Sie direkt Richtung Sonne plaziert wurde.  Das heisst das man nachmittags sehr schön essen, trinken und dann relaxen kann, was ja diese Bilder Zeigen...  Wir hatten, und ich besonders, einen sehr schönen Tag.
